About Lori DeVries

Lori DeVries is the volunteer Administrative Assistant for Restore Freedom with Katherine Henry, PC. In this capacity she answers the phone, posts on social media, helps with video streams, assists in managing Katherine’s events and whatever else is needed. Lori joined this fight for freedom on behalf of God’s children, especially the little ones that aren’t able to stand for themselves. “I’m doing it for the children; THEY are the future!” As a single mom, she spent a majority of her adult life trying to make ends meet and raise her son with good morals and values. Her experience in raising her son alone and her other struggles in life has prepared her for a time such as this. Historically, Lori’s work experience consists of customer service, medical insurance billing, medical and legal transcription, banking call center and the food service industry. Experience with chaos, manipulation and drama in the workplace, and in life, has helped Lori learn ways to handle the gas-lighting and pressures from man. And as her son grew up and left home, Lori felt God calling her closer to Him. So, now, as she navigates this fight for freedom, she strives to reflect Him in her actions and words. Her favorite Bible verse is Psalm 119:105 KJV “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.”

Protecting Your Rights BEFORE and DURING An Appeal – True or False Answer!

T/F Tuesday Answer: FALSE! Most issues are not appealable if you don’t raise them properly in the trial court, and many judges (unfortunately) don’t adhere to the law. So, while you should hope for the best, you should prepare for the likelihood of needing to appeal. Bottom line? Raise all of your legal arguments in writing or on the record to preserve them for possible appeal.

You’ve just been arrested! Now what?!? – True or False Answer!

T/F Tuesday Answer: FALSE! You may NOT be lawfully excluded from property open to the public through the use of trespass laws. The “First Amendment does not guarantee access to property simply because it is owned or controlled by the government,” but it does “protect[] a right of access to places traditionally open to the public.” Thus, you CANNOT be denied access to property open to the public, unless you are 1) obstructing normal operations or 2) interfering with others’ rights of normal use of the property. If you do that, you can be charged with Disturbing the Peace, etc., but you CANNOT be excluded from property open to the public “through the use of [] trespass laws.” US Supreme Court (1968 & 1981).

Freedom Fighter Phocion DENIED Due Process! – True or False Answer!

T/F Tuesday Answer: TRUE! Although FR Crim Pro 10(a) requires the charges to be read to you AT the arraignment (not before), Due Process (5th & 14th Am) requires the govt to give you adequate Notice & Opportunity to be heard, which means the charges must be included in the Notice to Appear for Arraignment. Additionally, the 6th Am guarantees you the right to be informed of the nature and cause of the accusation against you. #ConstitutionMatters

Now…the legislative debate shifts to colleges.

A message from Stand for Health Freedom 042023

What we are watching and what you need to know

There continues to be a lot happening in the health freedom sphere. Rest assured that we’re closely watching and listening on all fronts and all levels of government. This past week, we tuned in to the following hearings to understand any implications for health freedom. We’ll be in touch if action is needed!

The CDC’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practice (ACIP) met to discuss updates on COVID-19.

The Congressional Appropriations Committee held a budget hearing to look at the fiscal year 2024.

A joint congressional subcommittee held a hearing on the data breach at the D.C. Health Exchange.

In the meantime, we wanted you to know about this recent exciting win for our movement, that you can try to emulate in your city.

Florida’s Collier County Board of Commissioners is on a roll! Fresh from taking a stand for their autonomy by refusing a CDC grant with strings attached, these freedom supporters took an additional step on April 11, by passing an ordinance and a resolution to further protect health freedom.

READ ARTICLE HERE: https://standforhealthfreedom.com/blog/collier-2/

And their success can fuel yours! In addition to celebrating this win with them, you can use their health freedom bill of rights as a template to craft a similar ordinance for your county.

Freedom begins at home – in the schools, organizations, cities, and counties where we live, work and play. If we all take a stand locally, we can change the whole country!

Trials, Evidentiary Hearings & Motion Hearings – True or False Answer!

T/F Tuesday Answer: FALSE! Although testimony is a given at Evidentiary hearings, most Motion hearings do not have testimony or evidence presented, rather, just legal argument from each side.

PIC Releases New Documents on Risks of Whooping Cough and the Pertussis Vaccine (DTaP and Tdap)

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif., May 5, 2023 (Newswire) – Physicians for Informed Consent (PIC) has released two new educational documents packed with critical statistical data on pertussis (whooping cough) and the pertussis vaccine (DTaP and Tdap). With information compiled from sources such as the National Center for Health Statistics, the PIC documents help parents compare disease risks to vaccine risks, in order to make more informed vaccination decisions.

Because six doses of the pertussis-containing vaccine are injected into infants and children, beginning at 2 months of age, it’s important to know the relevant statistical data concerning vaccination. Through the PIC documents “Pertussis (Whooping Cough) – Disease Information Statement (DIS)” and “Pertussis (Whooping Cough) – Vaccine Risk Statement (VRS),” readers will:

  • Learn what parents need to know about whooping cough infection
  • Understand the basics about the whooping cough vaccine (DTaP and Tdap)
  • Learn the risks of the whooping cough vaccine and the limitations of safety research
  • Assess whether the whooping cough vaccine is safer than whooping cough infection

“There are two very illuminating points about whooping cough and its vaccine that are explained in PIC’s Pertussis DIS and VRS,” said Dr. Shira Miller, founder and president of Physicians for Informed Consent. “One is that it’s estimated that even without mass vaccination the risk of an American infant dying of whooping cough is about 1 in 46,000 or 0.002%, and the other is that an FDA study indicates that the whooping cough vaccine doesn’t prevent asymptomatic infection or the spread of infection. This shows how unscientific it is to exclude kids who haven’t had the whooping cough vaccine from attending private or public schools — which is happening in California and a few other states; especially because all the whooping cough vaccines currently contain aluminum — a known neurotoxin.”

Many parents aren’t aware that in the 1980s, lawsuits against vaccine makers were mounting due to severe vaccine injuries in children, and vaccine manufacturers threatened to stop producing vaccines. In reaction to this threat, Congress established the National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act of 1986. Through this law, manufacturers and healthcare professionals became exempt from liability for vaccine injuries and deaths. A no-fault compensation system was devised, and parents and taxpayers — instead of vaccine manufacturers and physicians — were made to carry the responsibility and burden of children’s vaccine injuries and deaths.

To protect children’s health, it’s essential that parents are able to access reliable infectious disease and vaccine education. PIC makes scientific data freely available with its education program, a growing collection of concise, reader-friendly one-page educational documents that support parents, physicians and policymakers in calculating the risk-benefit ratio of vaccination. To read the newest DIS and VRS documents on pertussis (whooping cough) and the pertussis vaccine (DTaP and Tdap), visit physiciansforinformedconsent.org/pertussis.

A Message from Ottawa Impact 042923

The Washington Examiner, which publishes political news and conservative analysis, published an article about the recent drive-by news article done by the Washington Post.

The Washington Examiner article by Mike Gonzalez, senior fellow at the Heritage Foundation, accurately describes the “strategy” of the political left, which is to fundamentally change American society and label anyone who thinks differently (especially conservative leaders) as obnoxious, polarizing, and extreme.

Mr. Gonzalez describes it this way: “The woke would prefer it, of course, if we all just lay low” and allow their “cultural bulldozer” to flatten conservative values. “All this is playing out in Ottawa.”

Read the Article

The story of everyday Americans taking back this county from tyrannical bureaucrats and woke politicians is spreading.

The principled actions of the most diverse Board of Commissioners in the history of Ottawa County is being shared across the country.

Be prepared!

The biased local news, and now national news, will continue to attack. The attacks will intensify as local leaders stand on the courage of their convictions.

This is what the progressive left fears: conservative leaders who actually do what they say they will do, and use the Constitution and traditional American values to guide their decisions.

Be encouraged!

Ottawa County is filled with Americans who will defend against the “cultural bulldozer” trying to flatten conservative values.
