God in the Rhode Island Constitution

Separation of church & state or God in the Constitution? Rhode Island’s Constitution specifically acknowledges God, the Almighty, and our Blessings (which come from God). RI’s Constitution begins like many: “We, the people of the State of Rhode Island , grateful to Almighty God for the civil and religious liberty which He hath so long permitted us to enjoy, and looking to Him for a blessing upon our endeavors to secure and to transmit the same, unimpaired, to succeeding generations, do ordain and establish this Constitution of government.” But it has a sobering truth unstated in any other state constitution: “Almighty God hath created the mind free.” Art 1, Sec 3.

Wellness Wednesday #39

Some toxins to watch out for are in our food & others in our personal care products. Glutamine is found in our foods. Why do you want to avoid high glutamine foods? Generally healthy people do not need to, but you may need to depending on your health conditions…

  • *Kidney or Liver Disease: Those with kidney disease, liver disease, cirrhosis, etc should avoid glutamine because their bodies may struggle to metabolize the extra amino acid load, potentially causing ammonia imbalance or adding strain to the organs.

  • *Cancer Patients: Glutamine fuels growth of some cancer cells; so, cancer patients are advised to avoid high glutamine foods & supplements.

  • *Neurological Conditions: Because glutamine converts to glutamate (an excitatory neurotransmitter), those with epilepsy, bipolar disorder, or severe anxiety may need to avoid it to prevent increased excitotoxicity in the brain.

  • *Reye’s Syndrome: This rare metabolic disorder, which causes swelling in the liver & brain, requires strict avoidance of glutamine.

God in the Pennsylvania Constitution

Separation of church & state or God in the Constitution? Pennsylvania’s Constitution specifically acknowledges God, the Almighty, and our Blessings (which come from God). PA takes a traditional route in their Preamble: WE, the people of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, grateful to Almighty God for the blessings of civil and religious liberty, and humbly invoking His guidance, do ordain and establish this Constitution. But, they take the Almighty and His acknowledgement seriously, as seen in Art 1, § 4. Religion. “No person who acknowledges the being of a God and a future state of rewards and punishments shall, on account of his religious sentiments, be disqualified to hold any office or place of trust or profit under this Commonwealth.”

Wellness Wednesday #38

Some toxins to watch out for are in our food & others in our personal care products. Glucose is found in our foods. Why do you want to avoid high glucose foods? They fuel cancer cells. But also…

Avoiding high glucose foods is primarily necessary to prevent rapid spikes in blood sugar followed by sharp crashes, which can leave you feeling tired, worn out, and experiencing increased hunger that leads to overeating.

For individuals with diabetes or prediabetes, frequent consumption of these foods exacerbates insulin resistance and contributes to weight gain, significantly increasing the risk of developing type 2 diabetes and other chronic conditions.

Long-term reliance on high-glycemic foods is linked to a higher risk of serious health complications, including heart disease, cardiovascular issues, and potential damage to nerves and kidneys due to sustained high blood glucose levels.
