Some toxins are in our food & personal care products; others are in our habits & relationships. A Low Protein Diet should be avoided. Why?  Restricting protein can lead to muscle wasting, weakened immunity, nutrient deficiencies (like iron and B-12), and reduced bone density. Also, proteins in the blood (such as albumin) keep fluid from accumulating in tissues. A severe deficiency can cause fluid retention and swelling, particularly in the legs and feet (edema). Thus, a moderate (101-131g) intake of protein (or more) is recommended. Added bonus: consuming adequate (moderate or above) protein starves cancer cells!
